Educator Turned Comic: Lockreg Blackwell III a.k.a Missta Lacraig

Lockreg Blackwell III, known on stage as Missta Lacraig, is a fast-rising stand-up comedian from the South Side of Chicago. He has been lighting up stages with his raw, relatable, and hilarious storytelling. By day, he's a dedicated paraprofessional with over seven years of experience. However, when the sun sets, he's all about the mic. In under a year, Missta Lacraig has hit countless stages, dropped viral skits, and built a growing fan base with his sharp takes on relationships, Chicago upbringing, and edgy commentary on turbulent current events. His grind is real, his punchlines hit, and he's just getting started!

What are some major achievements or accolades that you've accumulated?

I've gotten to perform at many shows, like “ Silly Azz Saturdays” at Rozana’s, throughout the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana, and hosted at Riddles Comedy Club.

How do you use your platform as an influencer to spread what's good to the world and who have you impacted?

I use my influence to relate to the everyday challenges of black families, black men and people who have been through difficult circumstances, helping them turn their pain into laughter! I am able to relate to nearly every situation a person can go through and utilize it in my skits and stand up. Comedy is my way of uplifting people and also bringing people together. If i can make someone laugh, I feel like my job is done.

What are some projects that you are currently working on or promoting?

I'm working on a lot of skits with many different content creators. I have shows coming up in University Park on April 10th and April 18th at Zaiden's Comedy room in Chicago!

Who do you have to credit for your success?

First, God always. Also, one of my best friends, Shawn, encouraged me to get on stage one day and honestly, I never stopped after that. I thank him a lot and can't ever forget about him!

What is your ultimate goal in your career/life?

My goal is to be one of the biggest comedian in the world. I want to star in movies and TV, and host comedy shows around the world!
