Iesha Trotter is an award-winning entrepreneur in the event planning industry! She specializes in decor and balloon art design. She also teaches and educates people on how to build their own creative businesses.
Why do you do what you do?
The reason why I do what I do is that I like to give out gifts. I originally wanted to bring gift-giving to Englewood, Chicago. Balloons bring joy to any occasion and I like to bring joy. For the teaching part of my business, we related gun violence in the city to Economics and we decided that if we can empower other people to become their own Economic Empowerment by teaching them how to become Certified Balloon Artists, that we will do just that. This Business also allows me to be a Philanthropist, which is something that I always wanted to do with my business. By shopping with me through the YWCA-YShop it allows me to give back to other Entrepreneurs.
What are some projects you are currently working on?
We are currently working on several projects. I'll just name a few, we are expanding to add a Wedding line of service to the company that would include all of your Special Day items that include decor, linen, photography packages along with Wedding Gowns and tuxedos.
What are your goals for the short-term and long-term?
We are about to launch our digital learning course for balloon designs, and we will be training students this Summer just to name a few. Some of my short term goals include turning my Monetary Monday's conversation into an ebook, going live with Designing with BrownSugar the Talk Show. Within the next 5-10 years, we will have expanded to be operating from a Full-Service Event Production company as well as Training Center for High-Risk youth. Giving them the opportunity to do and be better.
Who or what inspires you?
I am a Mom of Three, my babies inspire me.
If you could change anything about your industry, what would it be?
If I could change anything in my Industry it would be the competitiveness. We can go farther together is what I believe.
What do you plan to do once you cross the millionaire mark?
Once I cross the millionaire mark I plan on giving back to help other Entrepreneurs be able to live their Dream. I would like to create more opportunities for others. Reaching back is what I'll always continue to do.
